Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, learner-centered instruction aligned with Nicolet College's mission and values.
  • Teach theory, practical skills, and professional standards in cosmetology and related disciplines.
  • Demonstrate industry best practices and current techniques.
  • Provide individual and group coaching to help students master technical competencies.
  • Foster professionalism, customer service excellence, and workplace readiness.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide timely feedback and maintain regular communication with students.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.
  • Utilize instructional technology and learning management systems effectively.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and career exploration activities.
  • Participate in curriculum improvement and program development initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge, licensure, and professional certifications.
  • Support workforce and community education initiatives when opportunities arise.

Requirements

  • Licensed cosmetologist
  • Minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of recent occupational experience in cosmetology or a related beauty profession.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse learners.
  • Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Ability to meet Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements.
