Cold Caller / Phone Closer (US) - $15/hr + $100 per paid sign-up - San Diego trades, Mon-Thu

Other Jobs To Apply

No other job posts for this day.

We build AI phone receptionists for small service businesses. You'll call plumbers, HVAC, electricians, and landscapers across San Diego County from a list we provide, using our script, and bring the receptionist onto the call live so the owner hears it answer as their own shop. You close on the call: you stay on the line while the owner signs up for their free build, then call them back when the build is ready and walk them through switching it on. No meetings to book, no handoffs — the sign-up is the close.

Hours: 20 hrs/week, Monday–Thursday, in two windows — 7–9am and 3–6pm Pacific. Fridays off. An optional Sunday 10:30am–1pm shift is available at $20/hr for anyone who wants it. Starts September 21 and is ongoing — expect this to run into 2027. Days off: Columbus Day (Oct 12), Veterans Day (Nov 11), Thanksgiving Wednesday–Friday (Nov 25–27), and Christmas week.

Pay: $15/hr base plus $100 for every sign-up you close who converts to a paid plan after their 14-day free trial. Realistic on-target earnings are $2,200–2,800/month at 20 hrs/week; strong closers clear $3,000 with bonuses. Commissions start around week 3 and are paid the day the customer's first payment clears. You'll get a scoreboard every Thursday — your sign-ups, each one's trial end date, and what's about to pay out — so you always know what's coming.

Bonuses: every 25 active customers you bring in earns a bonus — $1,000 at your first 25, $1,500 at 50, and $2,000 for every 25 after that. "Active" means still paying when the bonus is checked; cancelled customers don't count.

Tools: our Quo business line and the Upwork time tracker. Calls are recorded; the script includes the required recording disclosure and you'll use it on every call.

You get: the script, an objection sheet, recordings of the founder's own calls, and a Thursday review with your real numbers — dials, conversations, sign-ups. Callbacks are scheduled only on your working days (Mon–Thu); anything a customer asks for on a Friday comes to the founder.

To apply: attach a 60-second voice note reading the opener in the screening questions naturally, and tell us the last local-business campaign you called on and your close rate. Native-level English required; Pacific or Mountain time zone preferred.

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
