SoundCloud empowers artists and fans to connect and share through music. With over 400+ million tracks from 40 million artists, the future of music is SoundCloud. The SoundCloud summer internship program is a 10-week paid internship starting in June and ending in August. Our DEI-focused program is designed to create sustainable pipelines to invest in SoundCloud's future, discover new, diverse talent at all levels, and develop future leaders who will contribute to all business areas. Interns will be fully immersed in the team, receiving opportunities to enhance their skills, and contribute to our mission. Furthermore, interns will receive various professional and personal development opportunities, like mentorship programming, fireside chats with senior leadership, innovative stretch assignments, and the chance to participate in networking events with other SoundCloud employees across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and editing engaging content tailored to internal and external audiences
  • Manage and support content distribution across internal channels (e.g., Slack, email newsletters, intranet) and external platforms (Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, and Facebook)
  • Conduct media research and regularly track brand mentions and coverage across digital publications
  • Collaborate with the social media team to brainstorm and develop creative social media strategies aimed at attracting the < Gen-Z demographic
  • Support the planning and brainstorming of social media campaigns, including identifying cultural moments relevant to < Gen-Z, perspective on listening behaviors of college students/recent graduates, and increasing engagement by cutting through the noise on socials.
  • Assist in preparing materials for team presentations, meetings, and internal communications
  • Provide ongoing administrative support, including (but not limited to) organizing content calendars and campaign schedules

Requirements

  • Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to adapt content to various tones and styles
  • Experience managing social media accounts (Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube) with a keen understanding of current social media trends as they pertain to the music industry
  • Proficient in conducting media research and monitoring press coverage
  • Familiarity with internal communication platforms and tools, such as Slack, email newsletters, and intranet systems
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of supporting content calendars and campaign execution
  • Passionate about music, media, and digital culture, with an eagerness to explore creative solutions targeting emerging demographics
