Part-Time / Contract | Remote | East Coast Preferred | 10–20 Hours/Week | $50–$55/Hour

We’re a small, design-first creative agency looking for a somewhat unusual combination: someone who genuinely loves both content and project management.

This isn’t a content role with a little project coordination sprinkled in, and it isn’t a traditional PM role where you’re simply moving tasks around a board. We need someone who can actually run creative projects while also bringing a strong content brain to the work.

The Project Management Side

You’ll own projects from kickoff through delivery — building timelines, running client meetings, coordinating designers, developers and freelance partners, managing deliverables and approvals, watching hours, budgets and scope, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

And we want to be transparent: this is an area of our agency that needs real ownership and improvement. We’ve had a few different people in this seat, but we haven’t yet found the person who has stepped in, looked critically at our tools, workflows and processes, and said, “Okay, I see what you’re trying to do. Let me make this better.”

We don’t want someone waiting for us to hand them the perfect process or tell them what to do next. We want someone who is excited to own this pillar of the agency — assess what’s working and what isn’t, clean things up, challenge us, introduce better systems, rip apart processes that aren’t serving us, and make the function their own.

You’ll work closely with our Operations lead, but this should feel like a partnership — not a role where you’re waiting for direction. We want to be able to bring you a challenge, client or project and trust that you’ll take it from there. Over time, our goal is for you to know this part of the business better than anyone else does.

The Content Side

You’ll also bring real content expertise to the table. Depending on the project, that could include:

Website content strategy and copywriting

Brand voice, messaging and positioning

Editorial and thought leadership

Case studies, interviews and storytelling

Campaign messaging

Email and newsletters

Organic social content and strategy

Editing and shaping content created by others

Sometimes you may write the work yourself. Other times, you may help shape the strategy, brief a freelance writer or specialist, and guide the work through completion.

The Client Side

You’ll be client-facing, too. We want someone who is warm, confident, curious and genuinely fun to work with — someone clients trust and enjoy talking to, but who is also comfortable keeping conversations focused, managing expectations, protecting scope and making sure decisions turn into action.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You...

Have a background in content strategy, content marketing, copywriting, editorial or brand and meaningful hands-on project management experience.

Genuinely enjoy organization, timelines, systems, process and keeping lots of moving pieces straight.

Are comfortable owning client communication and leading meetings.

Understand how creative work gets made and how to keep it moving without suffocating the creative process.

Are a strong writer and editor with great instincts around voice, messaging and storytelling.

Love technology and are curious about new tools, AI, automation and smarter ways of working.

Have the confidence to say, “I’ve got it,” figure things out and come back with solutions.

Like the idea of joining a small team where you can help mold the role and how we work, rather than simply stepping into a rigid existing system.

Agency experience is helpful, but it isn’t everything. You may have come through content marketing, editorial, integrated marketing, creative operations, agency project management — or a path we haven’t thought of yet.

The Details

This will begin as a part-time contract role, approximately 10–20 hours per week, at $50–$55/hour, with real opportunity for the role, responsibilities and hours to expand over time as we continue to grow. The role is remote, with East Coast candidates strongly preferred due to our team and client schedules.

Most importantly, you need to genuinely want both halves of this job. If you love content but merely tolerate project management, this probably isn’t the right fit. If building the project plan, getting everyone organized and across the finish line is weirdly as satisfying to you as getting the messaging right, we should probably talk.

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

The day I watched Marie Forleo's film separating the important from the urgent, my life changed. Not all remote jobs start fast, but most of them are...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
