Our Mission and Opportunity

Early education is one of the most important determinants of childhood outcomes, a critical support for working families, and a $175B market that remains underserved by modern technology. Brightwheel is the largest, fastest growing, and most loved platform in early ed, trusted by millions of educators and families every day. We are a three-time Cloud 100 company, backed by top investors including Addition, Bessemer, Emerson Collective, Lowercase Capital, Notable Capital, and Mark Cuban.

Our Team

Our team is passionate, talented, and customer-focused. We embody our Leadership Principles in our work and culture. We are a distributed team with remote employees across every US time zone, as well as select offices in the US and internationally.

Who You Are

You're a curious, methodical problem solver who gets satisfaction from making a chaotic system make sense. You're fluent in go-to-market language, you're energized by a good puzzle, and you care that the answer you land on is right, not just fast.

You will thrive here if you dive into the details and aren't satisfied until you understand how the records actually connect and why. You will thrive here if you take ownership of the whole job, including the unglamorous parts like edge cases, documentation, and handoff. You will thrive here if you move quickly and make defensible calls with imperfect information, and you write down your reasoning so others can check it.

What You'll Do

  • Map how contact and account records relate across our proprietary database and Salesforce, tracing long chains of linked records to determine which ones describe the same center.

  • Consolidate related records into a single, trusted center record that answers four questions: is it an active customer, churned, closed lost, or a cold lead; who owns it today; and which product does it use.

  • Validate every center you build and assign a confidence level, so Sales knows what can be trusted immediately and what needs a human look.

  • Use Google Sheets, SQL where it helps, and AI tools to work at scale, and know where automated output needs human verification.

  • Document the patterns, edge cases, and decision rules you discover, and turn them into a repeatable process the team can run after your contract ends.

  • Surface the root causes of data problems to Operations and Product so bad data gets fixed at the source.

What You've Done

  • Worked with go-to-market data such as lead lists, account and contact records, lifecycle stages, territories, or ownership, and can speak fluently about churn, closed lost, and cold leads.

  • Cleaned, deduplicated, or reconciled messy records across more than one system, and can explain the logic you used to decide what matches.

  • Built advanced Google Sheets workflows (lookups, array formulas, pivots, query functions, or scripts) to handle large volumes of data.

  • Analyzed data in aggregate to find root causes and themes, not only to fix individual records.

  • Documented a process clearly enough that someone else could run it.

What Sets You Apart

  • You've built, or meaningfully contributed to, an entity resolution or data consolidation system that turned a messy database into a usable one.

  • You write SQL to query, join, and validate data across sources.

  • You've used AI to classify or enrich records, and you built a way to check its accuracy.

  • You know the Salesforce data model, including how accounts, contacts, and opportunities relate.

Technology

Salesforce, Brightwheel's proprietary database, Google Sheets (advanced), SQL (nice to have), and AI tools for classification and enrichment.

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

The day I watched Marie Forleo's film separating the important from the urgent, my life changed. Not all remote jobs start fast, but most of them are...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
