Job Summary

The Elite Job – Healthcare Services is seeking a detail-oriented, highly skilled Medical Transcriptionist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transcribing audio recordings from healthcare professionals into accurate, timely, and well-organized medical documents and reports. Key Responsibilities

  • Listen to and transcribe audio recordings of medical professionals into written documents such as patient histories, physical exam reports, discharge summaries, operative reports, and referral letters.

  • Review and edit drafts prepared by speech recognition software for accuracy and consistency with established medical standards.

  • Ensure all transcriptions meet HIPAA and company privacy requirements.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, procedures, and treatments.

  • Format and proofread reports to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and clarity.

  • Submit transcribed documents within designated timeframes.

  • Collaborate with healthcare staff for clarification and accuracy when necessary.

  • Manage and prioritize workload efficiently to meet daily quotas and deadlines.

  • Maintain records of completed work and participate in quality assurance processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in English grammar, spelling, and medical language.

  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

  • Strong listening skills with the ability to understand diverse accents and dialects.

  • Exceptional typing speed (at least 60 WPM) with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading ability.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance and data privacy regulations.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Transcriptionist role, preferably within a clinical or hospital setting.

  • Experience with speech recognition software (e.g., Dragon Medical, M*Modal) is highly desirable.

  • Formal training in medical transcription or a related healthcare documentation program is preferred.

Working Hours

  • Flexible scheduling with options for day, evening, or weekend shifts.

  • Full-time employees: 40 hours per week.

  • Part-time opportunities available (minimum 20 hours per week).

  • Remote work available based on department and location.
