You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively to ensure our audience receives nothing but the best, directly contributing to the success and reputation of a world-renowned platform.<br><br><strong>Role Details<br><br></strong><ul><li>Hours: Part-Time (20–28 hours per week; shifts structured in 5- to 6-hour blocks; 4–5 shifts per week) </li><li>Schedule: 8:00 AM start time; potential weekend morning availability <br><br></li></ul><strong>Primary Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Copyedit a variety of content, including editorial pieces, show titles, descriptions, and social media content, to ensure accuracy, adherence to proper style, clear structure, and legal soundness. </li><li>Coordinate the continuous flow of copy among editors, fact-checkers, and a team of up to a dozen editorial staff members, ensuring efficient workflow management. </li><li>Build, format, and maintain digital pages using Content Management Systems like WordPress and other digital publishing tools. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Must-Have Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>2+ years of professional copyediting experience gained within a daily, weekly, or monthly publication, or a high-volume publishing/journalism environment. </li><li>Strong command of AP and Chicago styles. </li><li>Demonstrated experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress) and web-based production tools. </li><li>Exceptional command of English grammar, line editing, structure, tone, punctuation, and proofreading, with a proven ability to perform under tight deadlines. </li><li>Proven ability to manage high-volume turnaround times in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills to partner effectively across a multi-editor copy desk. </li><li>Ability to apply critical editorial judgment, moving beyond surface-level proofreading to evaluate stories for taste, potential legal issues, sentence flow, and journalistic integrity. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Nice-to-Have Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Background in sports editing or a high comfort level with reading sports copy, coupled with familiarity with pop-culture content. </li><li>Experience in digital publishing, web media production, and deep feature editing. <br><br></li></ul><strong>About Skill<br><br></strong>Skill connects the best professional, IT, engineering, financial and administrative talent with the world’s biggest brands.
