Job Description

Career.florahealthcareltd is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our innovative remote team. This unique opportunity will have you contributing to critical projects, potentially collaborating on initiatives that enhance user experiences for major consumer brands, such as those inspired by the Starbucks ecosystem. As a pivotal member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that are scalable, efficient, and robust across various platforms. Your work will directly influence user interaction, data processing, and system reliability, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for millions.

In this remote-first role, you will be an integral part of an agile team, working on the full software development lifecycle from concept and design to testing and deployment. We value engineers who are passionate about writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code and who possess a strong problem-solving mindset capable of tackling complex technical challenges. You'll be expected to collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to translate ambiguous business requirements into clear technical specifications and deliver exceptional products that exceed expectations. Your ability to articulate technical decisions and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be crucial for success.

This position demands a proactive individual who thrives in an independent yet highly collaborative environment. You should be adept at managing your time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and communicating clearly and concisely across various digital channels. Active participation in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning is expected, fostering a culture of shared knowledge and continuous improvement. While the role is entirely remote, we foster a strong sense of team cohesion and camaraderie through regular virtual stand-ups, collaborative tooling, and dedicated project channels. You will have the opportunity to work with modern tech stacks, embrace new technologies, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation. If you are passionate about building impactful software that touches a broad user base, are excited by the challenges of a fast-paced, remote development environment, and possess an unwavering commitment to quality, we encourage you to apply and help us push the boundaries of what's possible in digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and deliver high-quality features.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to improve performance and user experience.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, offering insights on technical feasibility and optimal approaches.
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability and stability.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development processes.
  • Document technical specifications, API designs, and system architectures clearly and concisely.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, C#).

  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, and well-tested code.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a remote collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) if full-stack interest.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Flexible remote work environment.

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
