<div style="text-align: center"><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)"><img src="https://secure.neogov.com/images/AgencyImages/jobposting/9/jobpostings/image/Waste(1).png" alt="Logo of Riverside County Department of Waste Resources, featuring mountains and waves in the background." style="width: 587px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"></span></div><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)"><br></span><div style="font-style: normal"><p><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)">The Department of Waste Resources is seeking to fill a single vacancy for a Maintenance and Construction Worker (MCW) position located at the Edom Hill facility in Palm Springs, CA.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)"><strong>This position requires employees to spend approximately 75% of their time traveling throughout the Desert region.</strong></span></p><p><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)">Incumbents will safely operate light trucks and other motorized equipment, including power saws, grinders, and drills, as they travel to various locations to collect and transport illegal dump work orders to landfills. They will also perform maintenance, general housekeeping, and cross-training as assigned. Candidates will additionally perform traffic control duties, including setting up traffic control devices such as cones and signs, and effectively communicating with both the public and their work team using hand signals and/or handheld radios. In addition, incumbents will perform weed abatement and site cleanup.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)">The most competitive candidates will be Spanish bilingual (preferred, not required), have experience working in outdoor labor or construction settings, traveling to various locations to transport materials, working in or around light- to medium-duty construction equipment, and have experience using power tools.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)">Under general supervision, incumbents perform a variety of field maintenance and construction tasks; operate hand tools, power tools, trucks, and other motorized equipment during maintenance or construction projects; and perform other related duties as required.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)">The Maintenance and Construction Worker is an entry-level working classification and reports to an appropriate supervisor or manager. Incumbents perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks, which often involve operating less complex and smaller motorized equipment (e.g., two-axle or three-axle trucks, water spray trucks, loaders, mowers, chippers, and compressors). Work may include road and flood control construction and maintenance, refuse disposal site operations, maintenance, recycling, excavations, fence building, weed abatement, signage installation, rodent control, and tree trimming.</span></p></div><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)"><br></span><div style="color: inherit; equipment and traffic safety procedures; the tools and materials commonly used in field maintenance, recycling, or construction work. <br><br><strong>Ability to:</strong> Safely operate trucks and light motorized equipment; perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance or construction tasks; operate power saws, chippers, and a variety of hand tools; follow oral and written instructions.<br><br></span><div style="color: inherit;
