Who We Are

Zenni pioneered the online eyewear industry in 2003 with a mission to make eyewear affordable and accessible for everyone. With complete prescription pairs starting under $10, Zenni offers adults and children the freedom to see clearly and express themselves through a wide selection of high-quality prescription glasses, sunglasses, protective eyewear, and non-prescription frames - curated with fashion, function, and style in mind.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Zenni has redefined the traditional retail model, emerging as the premier destination for online eyewear in the United States while surpassing 70 million frames sold globally.

Zenni is proud to be the Official Eyewear of the San Francisco 49ers, Columbus Crew, Monster Jam, WWE, Team Liquid, and more. Zenni has collaborated with designers and tastemakers on exclusive collections, including Chase Stokes and George and Claire Kittle. For more information, visit zenni.com.

About the Role

Roughly 1 in 4 school-age kids in the U.S. has a vision problem that has never been caught or corrected. Many of them are sitting in a classroom right now, unable to read the board.

Zenni has a mission to make quality eyewear available to everyone, and we care especially about the children and students who need it most. This role is about strengthening and amplifying that mission.

As Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, you will own Zenni’s Corporate Social Responsibility impact program from end to end. You decide where we show up, build the partnerships and tell the story in a way that moves people inside and outside the company. You will report directly to the VP, Brand.

Why This Role

  • Real ownership. You set the annual plan, you run the budget, and you make the calls.
  • A running start. Established partners, programs already in motion, and 23 years never wavering from this mission.
  • A seat near leadership. You report to the VP, Brand, work side by side with Creative, PR, and Marketing, and present your results to executives.
  • Room to grow. This program is still being built. The shape it takes over the next few years will be yours.

What You’ll Do

  • Set the strategy. Own Zenni’s annual CSR roadmap across three pillars: community impact, vision health education, and partnership support. Decide where we invest, tie it to company goals, and build toward programs that can scale over years, not just seasons.
  • Deliver access to care. Lead vision screening days, optical service partners, and community events that bring eye exams and free eyewear to people who otherwise go without, with a focus on students, families, and underserved communities.
  • Build and vet partnerships. Find, evaluate, and grow long-term relationships with schools, districts, nonprofits, and community organizations. Decide which partners we invest in and why.
  • Lead vision health education. Own the Vision Health hub on Zenni’s Impact page and create guides and classroom kits for educators, caregivers, and students. Lead partner programs, such as Bring Change to Mind, that connect clear sight to well-being.
  • Tell the story everywhere. Work with Creative, PR, Social, and Marketing to weave our impact into every brand channel, so the mission shows up in how Zenni talks to the world, not only on the Impact page.
  • Run it and prove it. Own the budget, vendors, and logistics behind every activation. Define the KPIs that matter (screenings, people served, reach, partner feedback) and lead annual impact reporting and executive readouts.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years in corporate social responsibility, social impact, or community engagement, including owning programs from strategy through execution
  • A track record of building nonprofit and community partnerships from scratch and keeping them strong
  • Tight project management across budgets, timelines, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Comfort with data: you can turn program numbers into clear recommendations
  • Strong writing and presenting, including to executive audiences
  • A real belief that every kid deserves to see clearly, and the ability to make others believe it too
  • Willingness to travel 8–12 times a year, mostly to vision screening days and community events across the U.S.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in health access, education, or youth-serving programs
  • Experience working with school districts, community health organizations, or vision care nonprofits
  • Cause marketing or brand partnership experience at a consumer or e-commerce brand
  • Familiarity with impact measurement or CSR and volunteer platforms (for example, Benevity)

U.S. Perks & Benefits:

  • Annual Bonus Program
  • Healthcare: 100% premiums covered for medical, dental, and vision for employees (50% for dependents)
  • Basic Life and AD&D with option for additional voluntary coverage
  • Short and long term disability coverage
  • 401k with up to 4% match
  • EAP and Spring Health that gives you and dependents access to free therapy and coaching
  • Free access for you and your family to our digital wellness platform - Wellness Coach
  • Generous PTO in addition to our Week of Zen - the time between Christmas and New Year’s to relax and recuperate
  • Fully Paid Parental Leave - 16 weeks for birthing and non-birthing parents
  • Family forming & fertility support and services through Maven
  • Annual Zenni Gift Card - to use towards our products!

Compensation

In addition to other forms of compensation like perks and benefits, the estimated base salary range for this role is $114,000 - $126,500 USD for most U.S. locations, and $125,400 - $139,200 USD for candidates based in our Tier 3 markets, such as the San Francisco Bay Area. The final offer will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skill set, experience, geographical location, market conditions, and other organizational needs. The Company reserves the right to change, modify, or revisit the salary range for various reasons including business needs.

At Zenni Optical, people remain the heart of our mission, even as we embrace technology that moves us forward. While we recognize the immense promise of AI, we are equally mindful of its limitations and use these tools strictly to assist our Talent Acquisition team rather than replace human judgment. We utilize AI tools as a collaborative partner to create content–such as job descriptions, interview questions, and outreach messaging–and review resumes, but we maintain a firm commitment to human-led hiring where AI never makes a final decision. Every selection is determined by a member of our team to ensure every candidate is personally valued by a human rather than an algorithm.

We look forward to hearing from you!

We strive to build a diverse team of individuals with a broad range of experience and perspectives. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t feel you meet all the qualifications.

Zenni Optical is an equal opportunity workplace and considers applications without regard to race, color, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or Veteran status. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
