<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.<br><br>Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.<br><br><strong>Primary Responsibilities:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Proficient in print reading, interpretation, and part measurement</li><li>Knowledge of APQP (Control Plans, FAI, FMEA) and other advanced quality tools</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of geometric design and tolerance (GD&T)</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of statistical quality control</li><li>Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and to apply sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions</li><li>Proficient oral and written communication skills</li><li>Ability to effectively organize and plan</li><li>Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate and facilitate others in group situations</li><li>High level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative course of action for definition and resolution of problems</li><li>Ability to exercise independent judgment is required</li><li>High degree of professionalism<br><br></li></ul><strong>Shift<br><br></strong>Day<br><br><strong>Experience/Education/Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in designated Engineering or related field</li><li>0-2 years experience</li><li>Possess working knowledge of inspection tools, equipment, methods, and instrumentation (including CMM electronic inspection devices)</li><li>Ability to interpret and use Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing</li><li>0-2 years of FAI experiences </li><li>0-2 years of QA experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the aerospace industry)</li><li>Understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements</li><li>Basic Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)</li><li>0-2 years QA experience in composite airframe components and assemblies a big plus</li><li>A & P license or equivalent training and experience preferred</li><li>Knowledge of lean and six sigma methodologies preferred<br><br></li></ul><strong>The Right Stuff:<br><br></strong><ul><li>As a Department of Defense Contractor we are required to hire US Persons. </li><li>Visa sponsorship is not being offered. <br><br></li></ul><strong>The Benefits:<br><br></strong>Top notch benefits program including generous 401(k) match, paid time off, personal days, flexible schedule and strong commitment to work/life balance.<br><br><strong>How to Apply:<br><br></strong>We follow OFCCP guidelines for accepting applications.<br><br>Please apply at are an equal opportunity employer.
