Remote Medical Coders (I, II, and III) Outpatient (I, II) and Inpatient (III) 100% Remote Full-Time CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Are you a certified coding professional with at least three (3) years of coding experience? Do you have experience with medical coding for the Department of Defense (DoD) or desire to provide medical coding for the DoD? We are looking for Full-time Medical Coders I, II, and III to join us in our mission supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA). Highly Competitive Pay and Benefits • Hourly base rate PLUS Health & Welfare • 11 paid Federal Holidays • Paid Vacation and Sick Time • New computer system and monitor provided • Online coding clinics • Flexible work schedules • 100% Remote positions Specifics by Position • Medical Coder I Professional and institutional (facility) components for outpatient primary care • Medical Coder II Professional and institutional components for same day surgery, emergency department, inpatient observation, and/or outpatient specialty clinics • Medical Coder III Institutional components for inpatient discharges and associated professional services Essential Job Duties • Code Assignment – Accurately assign Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS); includes utilization of modifiers and units of service, and International Classification of Diseases Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) diagnoses codes based on medical record documentation for outpatient encounters; inpatient includes International Classification of Diseases Procedure Coding System (ICD-10-PCS) • Documentation Review – Identify and resolve inconsistencies, ambiguities, or discrepancies that may lead to inaccurate coding or affect quality patient care. • System Utilization – Utilize THE Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS systems to remotely access patient records and assign codes for patient encounters. • Productivity and Quality Standards – Achieve and maintain hourly coding productivity and 97% accuracy standards for the position.
