Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities (such as checking in trailers, traffic flow, internal communications with operations, etc.), conduct yard audits, complete applicable driver training programs (Hostler, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) School, etc.), and operate multiple vehicle types based on business need (including but not limited to hostlers and day cabs) to support Amazon’s transportation network. Benefits of being a Transportation Associate include the opportunity to work outside and understand the new and exciting world of transportation operations.

  • Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non-public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
  • Learn Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and comply with company policies, procedures of those DOT regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting requirements, break periods, etc.)
  • Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
  • Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks at appropriate times in compliance with Amazon policy and federal and state regulations, adhere to yard safety policies, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.

  • Exposure to different Amazon site types including NACF, NASC, Air, AMZL & AMXL.
  • Long-term growth potential via comprehensive training in transportation with Amazon.

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
