We're hiring a Quality Assurance Specialist to leverage strong technical and regulatory knowledge and analytical skills to support customers with complex aircraft maintenance programs and major alterations projects. The responsibilities of this role, supporting our 14 CFR Part 145 Certified Repair Station, are detailed below. 

 

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing Repair Station work order forms and associated documents for accuracy and completeness in accordance with the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, applicable customer’s policy, and procedures, and applicable 14 CFR regulations prior to approving the aircraft for return to service.
  • Generating, aircraft major alteration and/or repair document packages; performing research of regulatory guidance and collaborating with FAA designated engineers, medical and aviation equipment manufacturers, aircraft manufacturer technical support staff, and alterations support vendors to compile a complete approved data file to address all aspects of the alteration and/or repair.
  • Auditing aircraft maintenance records and generating Repair Station work orders for aircraft major maintenance and modification events.
  • Performing a detailed quality review of GFL Repair Station Work Order, documentation packages prior to aircraft return to service.
  • Notifying the Aircraft Owner/Operator to remove an aircraft from service when he/she has determined that an error has been committed regarding the proper documentation of maintenance or an alteration that is in violation of the policy and procedures of the manual and/or applicable 14 CFR regulations.
  • Assisting with the removal of any suspect or unapproved aircraft components and/or parts from inventory and ensuring such parts are segregated to ensure they are not installed on customer aircraft.
  • Assisting with Aircraft return to service processes after the performance of maintenance or an alteration in accordance with the Repair Station Manuals, customer policy and procedures, and applicable 14 CFR regulations.
  • Assisting with aircraft acceptance inspections after EMS configuration completions, major maintenance and/or modification shop visits, ensuring conformance with the Aircraft TC, STC’s, Engineering (DER) approved data, and FAA field approval data, to include: STC drawings, instructions, specifications, and other pertinent data.
  • Support Depot Maintenance bases, maintain state-of-the-art avionics and EMS medical equipped Fixed Wing Aircraft 
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Repair Station Manager and / or the Chief Inspector.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Valid State issued Driver's license 
  • Current FAA A&P license
  • EMS systems, Aircraft maintenance systems, records and maintenance support and planning.
  • Proficient in ensuring that aircraft work order documentation, forms, checklists, and other documentation are correctly executed to comply with GMM policies and 14 CFR regulations.  
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with the various customer departments.
  • Ability to coordinate with various departments and vendors to ensure smooth execution of heavy maintenance tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance tracking programs and the ability to monitor and apply corrective actions.  
  • Capable of making sound judgments regarding aircraft safety.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in the after-hours maintenance or on-call support team which may include travel and working some evenings, weekends, or holidays when needed.
  • Ability and willingness to gain a thorough knowledge of the Repair Station Company Manual System and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule during the duty period assigned.
  • Computer skills to include a good working knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Repairman Certificate
  • Relevant Quality Assurance experience for a 14 CFR Part 135 and/or Part 145 Certified Repair Station.
