JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly technical and hands-on Workday Adaptive Planning Technical (Integration & Reporting) Contractor with deep expertise in enterprise integrations, reporting, analytics, and financial systems delivery.

The ideal candidate will be a strong technical “doer” with proven experience designing, developing, implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting complex inbound and outbound integrations as well as reporting solutions across Workday Adaptive Planning and Workday. This role requires strong expertise in integration architecture, APIs, ETL/data movement, financial reporting, dashboarding, analytics, and enterprise data transformation.

The contractor will work closely with Finance, FP&A, HR, IT, and enterprise data teams to deliver scalable and supportable integration and reporting solutions involving Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday HCM, Workday Financials, Workday Prism Analytics, Palantir, data warehouses, and other enterprise platforms. Functional finance and FP&A knowledge is beneficial; however, the primary focus of this role is hands-on technical delivery, integration engineering, reporting development, automation, and production support.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support complex inbound and outbound integrations for Workday Adaptive Planning and Workday.
  • Build and maintain enterprise integrations between Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday HCM, Workday Financials, Workday Prism Analytics, Palantir, ERP systems, data warehouses, and downstream reporting platforms.
  • Develop API-based, middleware, flat-file, SFTP, ETL, and automated integration solutions supporting enterprise planning and reporting processes.
  • Perform hands-on technical development, troubleshooting, debugging, optimization, and production support for integrations and reporting solutions.
  • Design, develop, and support financial, operational, and management reporting solutions within Workday Adaptive Planning and Workday.
  • Develop dashboards, matrix reports, cube sheets, scorecards, executive reporting packages, and analytics solutions supporting budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and financial reporting.
  • Create scalable automated reporting and analytics solutions using Workday and Adaptive Planning reporting capabilities.
  • Configure and support data mapping, transformation logic, planning models, assumptions, hierarchies, and version management.
  • Analyze and resolve integration failures, reporting discrepancies, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Partner with Finance, FP&A, HR, IT, and Data Engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, integration specifications, mapping documents, support procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in unit testing, SIT, UAT, deployment activities, and post-production support.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning and Workday.
  • Strong expertise designing and implementing complex enterprise integrations involving Workday Adaptive Planning and Workday.
  • Strong experience developing reporting, dashboarding, analytics, and financial reporting solutions within Workday Adaptive Planning and Workday.
  • Deep technical expertise integrating Adaptive Planning and Workday with enterprise systems including Workday Prism Analytics, Palantir, ERP systems, and data platforms.
  • Strong experience with REST/SOAP APIs, ETL processes, SFTP/file-based integrations, middleware technologies, and data transformation frameworks.
  • Experience with Workday Studio, EIBs, Prism pipelines, Workday Extend, and enterprise reporting frameworks.
  • Strong SQL, data analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with JSON, XML, CSV, and other integration data formats.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise reporting, analytics, financial planning, and data reconciliation processes.
  • Experience supporting production environments and resolving operational incidents.
  • Ability to independently drive technical delivery in contractor and consulting environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Databricks, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Adaptive Planning and Workday certifications preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and financial reporting processes.
